Who am I?
David Doubtfire
I started working on farms before leaving school. When I was old enough, I moved on from farming to HGVs driving at 21, and on to driving HGVs around Europe at 23 years old. With my wife Carey we ran our own haulage company around Europe for 8 years.
I returned to relief driving and started to operate plant machinery, contracting into quarries, which I’ve always had an interest in. I then got to the stage where I wanted to pass on the skills, I had learnt to others starting out in the industry.
Taking the steps to complete a teaching qualification and undertake an instructional techniques course, and passed, becoming a qualified National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS) instructor.
Knowing only too well how critical it is to teach to your candidate’s needs, which is so important to achieve the standards the candidates are requiring. All needs can and will be catered for as I have personal experience in this area. For these reasons, I decided to set up Aysgarth Plant and Forklift Training.
